Grants, Funding and Donations

How was H4H Valiant named?

The H4H Valiant was built by a team from the Great Big Cornish Gig Project, run by the museum and core funded by the Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant scheme. Needing a name for the gig boat, The Great Big Cornish Gig Project launched a competition and out of over 50 entries submitted, the name ‘Valiant’ as chosen. The winning entry was from Suzanna Farrell Dell, she explained why she selected the name, “I chose it because of its meaning- possessing or showing courage or determination. That’s how I see military veterans.”

Here at EPIC GIGability we rely heavily on grant funding and donations to operate our club for current and former Military personnel.
